So who and what is Fred's Flying Circus?

"The best littlest circus in the world" - Le Monde
"Should be consumed without moderation" - La gazette

Fred's Flying Circus is a small family circus who have been touring the UK with their mayhem and magic since 2000. The main part of our work is visiting schools to work with the children to put on a circus extravaganza which they then perform in our 'little' big top in front of a live audience. This is a great way of involving the school in the life of a Circus as well as a very effective way of fundraising... see 'fundraising facts'

Fred's Flying Circus was originally formed in 1988 and started touring festivals, towns and villages throughout England, amazing audiences with "Walking the line of death" and "Fish, knife and knicker juggling!" In 1990 they set sail for France, where Fred won the Ivry street festival in Paris, making him the European Street Entertainer of the Year. Fred’s Flying Circus were based in France for the next 10 years, working with some of the most prestigious Circus companies in Europe as well as running a National Circus School in Montpellier.

On returning to the UK, Fred started working with his daughter China and in 2002, they bought their beautiful 'little' big top and started to tour the UK. Today the company is still led by Fred and this year Mrs Fred will be joining in to help out backstage!

The Circus Show

Fred's Flying Circus performs mostly in their beautiful 'little' Big Top - however they are often asked to perform in Theatres or Clubs or even on the Street. Fred's Flying Circus can perform for anyone anywhere.

Fred's Flying Circus have regularly performed in London nightclubs as cabaret acts - yet during the day they have performed the SAME show at Primary Schools - amazing yet true!

The Circus performs for family audiences at Street festivals, Airshows, Arts and Craft Fairs, Rural Touring, at Town and Village festivals, Family parks and much much more.

  • Disciplines covered include juggling with scarves, balls, spinning plates, balancing and clowning.

    TEENAGERS

We have found that they particularly enjoy the close up magic workshops as they learn some COOL magic to impress with!
